Android application development

As part of my work on 557, I’ve been developing applications on Android.  This has been at times a pretty painful experience – parts of the Android tool chain still feel somewhat ropey and incomplete.  On the other hand, there is something really satisfying about seeing your application running on your mobile phone.  Plus, the phone offers an amazing touch interface that is nothing like anything you can get on the PC (at least for most PCs at the moment).  I would not exactly say the experience has been enjoyable, but it has been an interesting project, even if writing something to search for YouTube videos did take an entire day!
